Fabric Care
Taking care of your favorite fabrics doesn’t have to be a chore. Follow these simple care tips to keep them looking stunning for years to come!
Shrinkage Alert
Most fabrics are pre-treated to minimize shrinkage, but some natural fibers may shrink slightly (4-5%) when exposed to heat. Avoid washing in hot water—your fabric isn’t a teabag!
Laundering: Wash with Love
- Cool & Gentle: Use cold water and a gentle cycle to prevent damage and preserve fabric quality.
- Color Care: Dark and bright colors may bleed—wash separately for the first few washes.
- Say No to Overloading: Give your fabrics room to breathe; don’t overcrowd the washing machine.
Drying: Handle with Care
- Air Dry is Best: Direct sunlight can fade colors, so dry in the shade when possible.
- Lay Flat or Hang: Delicate fabrics prefer being air-dried on a flat surface or a hanger to maintain shape.
- Tumble Dry? Check Labels! Some fabrics handle low heat drying, but many prefer air drying.
Ironing: Smooth, Not Scorched
- Steam is Your Friend: Use a steam iron or lightly mist the fabric before ironing.
- Low to Medium Heat: Avoid high heat to prevent burns, especially on delicate fabrics.
- Test First: Always do a patch test on an inconspicuous area before ironing.
